Whimsical weddings should be a representation of a couple’s dream day—whether that’s recreating a favorite childhood storybook or replicating a colorful carnival, the decor choices can truly be reflective of your style. When picking whimsical wedding flowers, fraying away from the traditional route is encouraged. While you can still use flowers that you would see in a classic bouquet, how they’re arranged is what makes them so unique. Keep the stems long and tie a ribbon around them for that unique, whimsical look you’ve always imagined.
Our bridesmaids will be carrying champagne hydrangeas. For my bouquet and six bridesmaid bouquets to be done using real flowers through a florist we would be looking at over $300 for teeny tiny bouquets. The cost of us making our own (including a toss bouquet and cake table decorations) was $70. I’ve learned that there are so many hidden costs when planning a wedding that trying to come in under budget will usually end up putting you pretty close to your budget. Despite keeping costs down as much as possible Josh and I are still over our initial wedding budget. Hopefully we can find some more creative ways to save money to help keep our numbers down.

Figure out what your budget is, what kind of flowers you want, and how many flowers you’ll need; then do some research. If your local grocery store is stocked with awesome quality blooms for a great price, then go that route. And if an online wholesaler is your best bet, click away! Just figure out what’s best for you and what you feel most comfortable with.
For an extra innovative affair, use calla lilies. You can lug a solitary stem for a straightforward appearance, or a big arrangement for a sensational impact. Be sure to integrate these blossoms with elegance-both in the wedding celebration celebration's outfit and the surrounding decorations.
A hand-tied wedding bouquet resembles an arm arrangement. While an arm arrangement does not normally have a stem, a hand-tied wedding celebration arrangement includes a lengthy stem that is wrapped in elegant bow. The individual who makes the bouquet will typically add lace or some other fragile material to the base of the arrangement.

While you can leave all your wedding event flower choices in the hands of a capable professional floral designer and also obtain excellent outcomes, you may want to take a more hands on method. We wish this wedding event blossom guide will aid making intending your most big day simply a little less complicated.

The lemon leaf has round, thick leaves that resemble the shape of lemons. Like the leather fern, it has a long lasting vase life. It can stand alone or be a subtle companion to a beautiful bouquet. Its shiny leaves work well with all flower types and are most fitting in vases as table centerpieces. The lemon leaf is great for adding fullness to floral designs.

We live in a world of many, many options; and no one said that you had to go one place and one place only to get your flowers. With other aspects of your wedding, yes, you may have to be loyal to one particular supplier or vendor. But with your flowers, do what works for you and your budget. If you want to get your roses from Costco, but your greenery from the flower market, then go for it! There is no flower-buying etiquette to be followed here. Trust me: the flowers will understand.

10. Fasten securely with push pins. We used pearl topped pins because we thought they looked really pretty. You need to be really careful at this step to make sure no pins come out the other side, that could make for a very messy wedding. Because of the wire underneath this step takes a little time to make sure you get the pins in correctly. I’ve found it to work best when I push them in slightly and then up or down. We used three pins on each bouquet to secure them really tightly.
Also known as the Peruvian lily, the alstroemeria originated in South Africa. Like its exotic name, the inner petals of this flower have stripes on them that create texture and diversity when added to bouquets.  They come in a range of colors from whites and golds to pinks and purples. The alstroemeria symbolizes friendship and devotion and is often seen in bouquets for friends or relatives.
The trumpet-shaped blooms of the lily stand for purity, whether or not white flowers are tucked into the bouquet. Oriental lilies, which are in season during late summer, have a strong fragrance and larger blooms than the Asiatic lilies of early summer. A wedding bouquet comprised entirely of lilies looks contemporary and dramatic, but lilies also pair well with other flowers like roses or lisianthus.

Ahead, you'll find arrangements featuring popular wedding flowers (plus a few unique ones) that are available in the summer. In-season varieties include everything from dahlias and zinnias to protea and clematis flowers. There are also tons of year-round staples—from roses to eucalyptus—featured here. When choosing your assortment, it's important to consider the weather this time of year. That's why we've spotlighted sturdy plants like succulents, too—they'll withstand the heat of the dog days.
Bohemian-themed weddings are typically full of natural, locally sourced flowers. If you’re getting married in the summer, you’ll have the most luck finding your favorite colorful blooms and wildflowers. The flowers you choose for your boho-inspired bouquet are equally as important as the lush greenery that accompany it. Pair your favorite colors with pampass grass and eucalyptus to create a wedding bouquet as unique as you.
Decide on your color scheme: If you have a favorite color, that's what you'll want for your wedding. But if the carpet is hideous in the room, you should probably think about a colors scheme that will help to take the eye off it. Or you may have fallen in love with some dresses for your bridesmaids. Choose your color scheme using any of these sources.
